Tucked-away in North Beverly is the Conant Street Burial Ground which is the final resting place of at least 40 Beverly residents. This burial ground has some of the earliest burials of the North Parish area including that of Eleanor Dodge dating to 1715. Also located in this cemetery is the resting place of Reverend John Chipman who was ordained as the First Pastor of the Second Church in the North Parish in the precincts of Salem and Beverly. He presided over the parish for 59 years, the longest of any minister in Beverly. This 1.4 mile walking tour will explore the lives of those buried here as well as, examine some of the gravestone craftsmanship throughout the cemetery.
