Women’s Rights Story Time!
February 23 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

11:00 am
We will be reading “Around America to Win the Vote” by Mara Rockliff. This story tells just a bit of the true story of a couple of women suffragists, their kitten and a little yellow car who drove 10,000 miles around America to spread the word about “Votes for Women” in 1916.
Recommended for children preschool-3rd grade
2:00 pm
We invite our guests in 3rd through 5th grade to hear the “The Pink Hat” that goes on a journey that begins with a kitten pulling it out of a knitting basket. It is blown away by a strong wind, soon it provides warmth for a new baby before finally ending up on the head of a young girl who joins the 2017 Women’s March demanding equal rights and protection for all, but especially for women.
For both story times we will have a related crafts available to enjoy while hearing their story.
