Telling supernatural stories, specifically during Christmas, became a trendy and exciting part of families’ holiday traditions. After the publication of Charles Dickens,’ A Christmas Carol, stories began to include themes of family and forgiveness. The values rang true with American audiences and made holiday ghost stories a phenomenon of the western world.
