Jazz and the French Revolution!
July 14 @ 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm
$25 – $30We all know Beverly has a proud history tied to the American Revolution. But, mon Dieu! What the heck does it have to do with France?
Two years after the American Revolutionaries declared independence, France formalized its alliance with the new country, helping to make the victory of the United States possible. The Americans’ victory over the British would have been an important catalyst that emboldened the citizens of Paris to eventually storm the Bastille prison on July 14, 1789—an event which became a flashpoint for the French Revolution.
Join us at Hale Farm for an outdoor concert and immerse yourself in the electrifying atmosphere of rebellion and freedom to commemorate the revolutionary fervor that swept across Paris centuries ago as the musical improvisations of renowned jazz ensemble Josiah Reibstein and the Hubtones evoke the passion and defiance of those who dared to challenge the status quo.
Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a jazz aficionado, or simply seeking an evening of cultural immersion, don your finest revolutionary red, white, and blue attire and join us for an afternoon of music, merriment, and enlightenment as we celebrate the enduring legacy of the French Revolution through the universal language of jazz. Attendees will enjoy a complimentary glass of French wine courtesy of VINTUS Wines & Spirits.” Vive la Révolution$30; $25 HB and Card to Culture members. Tickets may be purchased onsite.
