From the Archives: Walker Transportation Films

For decades, the Walker Transportation Collection has included a remarkable group of motion picture films documenting transportation, people, and places from another era. But many of these films have been difficult, or impossible, to view in their original format due to their age and fragile condition.

Now, thanks to a recent digitization project, 40 Walker Transportation film reels have been preserved in digital form, allowing Historic Beverly to bring these previously inaccessible moving images back to the community.

Join us for a special afternoon screening featuring selections from the newly digitized films. Together, we’ll experience these fascinating glimpses of the past while celebrating the important work of preserving them for future generations.

Snacks will be provided.

Seen here are pieces from the Walker Transportation Collection: Beverly Farms train depot 1850, Hotel Trafton advertisement, Beverly omnibus c. 1906, Beverly depot 1906.
